What is Chandrayaan 3 ?

Chandrayaan-3 is the proposed third lunar exploration mission by the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO).It aims to land a rover on the lunar surface to conduct scientific experiments and build upon the success of the previous Chandrayaan 3 missions.

Chandrayaan-3 is the third lunar exploration mission proposed by the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO).The Chandrayaan-3 mission aims to build on the success of its predecessor Chandrayaan-II and further India's understanding of the Moon.

Some important facts about Chandrayaan 3 are as follows:

1-Objective:The primary objective of Chandrayaan-3 is to land a rover on the lunar surface and conduct scientific experiments to study the lunar surface and composition.

2-Mission Components: Chandrayaan 3 is expected to consist of an orbiter, a lander and a rover. The orbiter will be responsible for orbiting the moon and transmitting data between the lander/rover and Earth. The lander will make a soft landing on the lunar surface, carrying the rover to explore the lunar terrain and collect data.

3-Technology: Chandrayaan 3 will incorporate progress and lessons learned from Chandrayaan-2.It will leverage the experience gained in developing and managing components of previous missions to increase the chances of a successful landing.

4-Collaboration:ISRO has expressed willingness to collaborate with other space agencies, including international partnerships,to share expertise, resources and data for the Chandrayaan-3 mission.Such cooperation could enhance the mission's scientific capabilities and increase its chances of success.

1-Although specific details of the advanced technology used are scarce, the mission is expected to include several technological advancements over its predecessor Chandrayaan-2.Here are some possible areas of technological advancement that can be included in Chandrayaan 3.

2-Landing system: Chandrayaan-3 is likely to feature an advanced landing system to improve the chances of a successful soft landing on the lunar surface.Lessons learned from Chandrayaan-II's Vikram lander landing attempt are expected to be used to improve the reliability and accuracy of the landing system.

3-Rover capability: The Chandrayaan-2 rover is expected to have enhanced capabilities as compared to the operational rover.Robots with state-of-the-art advanced technology could include improved mobility,higher-resolution cameras, advanced sample analysis tools and expanded operational capabilities on the lunar surface.

4-Communication and data transfer: Chandrayaan 3 may enable better communication systems to facilitate faster and more reliable data transfer between the lunar lander, rover and Earth-based ground stations. This could allow real-time data transmission and enable rapid decision making during missions.

5-Scientific Instruments: Chandrayaan 3 is likely to carry a set of advanced scientific instruments on the lander and rovers to carry out various experiments and studies. These instruments may include cameras, spectrometers, seismometers and other instruments to analyze the lunar surface, subsurface and atmosphere.

Autonomy and artificial intelligence:The mission may include enhanced autonomy and artificial intelligence that enables landers and rovers to make independent decisions based on real-time data and environmental conditions. This can increase the operational efficiency and adaptability of the mission.

Chandrayaan 3 launch date:

Chandrayaan-3 was launched on a Mark-3 rocket from the Satish Dhawan Space Center in Sriharikota,Andhra Pradesh on Friday,July 14 at 2:35 PM.
